VanDusen Festival of Lights

On December 15th, Delle and I went to the Festival of Lights at the VanDusen Gardens in Vancouver.  We had attempted to go another night but had arrived to find such long line-ups that we had driven away.  This time we arrived really early, beat the rush, and had a lovely time wandering around the gardens before it got too busy.

We oohed and aahed at the millions of twinkling lights, listened to Christmas carols, watched the performance of some amusing gnomes with very fake German accents, drank hot apple cider, munched on kettle corn, and generally had a very nice time!

These photos were taken on my little digital camera and definitely can't do it justice.  In real life the lights were absolutely magical!

Korean BBQ

One night during Delle's visit, we went to a Korean BBQ restaurant with Conrad and Chantelle.  We have only recently discovered Korean BBQ, and love the novelty of cooking our own food at our table... not to mention the deliciousness of it!

He offered to be Delle's boyfriend for the evening!
(Because she was with two couples...?)

Yummy!

Delle's boyfriend later brought her this
sushi bouquet, free of charge!

Santa and his helpers

On December 11th, Delle and I had the opportunity to be Santa's helpers at Ben's work's kids' Christmas party, held at the Burnaby Village Museum.  As for Ben's role at the event... well, suffice to say he was the Santa centre of attention!

Before the Christmas party, we had time to look around the village for a little while...

The Rawleigh was still in the cabinet where I found it last time!

Haha!

...Well, is it?

...No, wait, it was a dance!

And after the Christmas party, we got to ride the carousel for free... twice!

Gingerbread houses

On Saturday, December 10th, we hosted our 2nd annual Gingerbread Houses and Christmas Carols evening (click here to see last year's event).  This included decorating gingerbread houses and trees, enjoying a delicious potluck dinner, and singing Christmas carols by candlelight.  It was a fun and festive night!
