Last Wednesday (April 25th), we went to an Anzac Day ceremony in downtown Vancouver, organised by CANZBA and the Aussie and Kiwi consulates. We'd been away on Anzac Day for the past 2 years, so this was the first time we had been to the ceremony since 2009.
Just like last time, it was very moving to remember the Anzacs' sacrifice, hear a bugler play the Last Post, and sing our national anthems with a few hundred other Aussies and Kiwis who took the time to gather on a busy workday halfway around the world from home.
I loved the fact that I heard the most voices of all when we sang O Canada. If it weren't for the Anzacs, none of us may have had the opportunity to call this place our adopted home.
Lest we forget.
