Mt Vernon weekend, Post 2: Birthday party

Continuing on from Post 1...

It had recently been Etta's 2nd birthday, so on Saturday evening (April 21st) we had a party for her on Donna and Terry's front lawn.  The party was also for Etta's cousin Jacqueline's 9th birthday.

Here are some photos from the beautiful evening...

Chocolate-and-marshmallow-stuffed bananas, made by us
and Angharad (don't think they were too popular though!)

Etta's not too sure about this...

...But she's got the hang of it now!

Later, it was time to open presents inside.  Etta and Jacqueline took it in turns to open a present each until they were all done.  Jacqueline was very sweet, exclaiming with real joy over every gift she opened.  Etta had to have some of her presents hidden because they were distracting her from opening any others!

It was a lovely party, and we're very glad we got to be a part of it!

On Sunday, we went to the meeting and then had lunch back at Donna and Terry's.  We blew bubbles on the verandah and watched Etta enjoy her Radio Flyer some more.

That afternoon we went to the gospel meeting in Bellingham and afterwards walked along the boardwalk.

Then it was back to BC... via Trader Joe's and a big schnitzel meal before we crossed the border.

What a wonderful weekend... we LOVE visiting Donna and Terry!  :)
