A quick update!

I'm at the Internet cafe... just a quick note to let you all know that we have got a flat, a car, and a UK bank account!! Our flat is the one I mentioned in yesterday's post; the one that impressed us with its newness and spaciousness. We're waiting for the real estate agency to do reference checks etc, but fingers crossed we should be able to move in on Monday (which is perfect as Sunday night is our last night in the Guest House). Yay!!! More details about our new place soon!

Yesterday we drove 60 miles to West London to look at a car, only to find that it had just been sold (despite the seller having called us an hour earlier to tell us he would be late)!! :S It was our first drive out of Crawley though - beautiful, lush countryside and lots to look at! We then drove 60 miles to East London to look at another car, which we have put a deposit on and should be able to collect next Wednesday. It's a blue '98 VW Golf TDi. The car is owned by a young IT student who lives in a very ethnic area full of crazy drivers and interesting shops such as Halal Fried Chicken and Nick's Pies and Eels! A man fell over right behind us while we were in line for the ATM, and nobody did anything except stare after him as he stumbled off down the street again. The guy is selling his car because he can't stand to live there any more and needs money to move!!!

Anyway, Ben needs to use the computer so I'd better make this all for now! Cheers, Anna.
